OUR CHARITY PARTNER

2024 will see the event slightly restructured but the emphasis is again on providing an incentive for the kids to get out there and get active. There is no direct charity link with BCH due to some criteria that made it difficult for us to continue in the current event format and agreements. After 8 years and $36,000 + contributions by the event and our participants, our efforts have certainly been widely recognised and appreciated by BCH. Our commitment to the kids getting active continues by donating free entry to 12 & under in the Bully Buster 4 km for the first 4 months of registrations, it’s $10 from Jan 10 - Feb 10.

The McColl’s Transport Bully Buster 4 km is once again promoting the link between physical fitness and mental health, in particular, our youngest and most vulnerable, our kids. Since the inception of the 4 km, we have seen some 850 kids 12 & under participate free and less than $5 ($25,000 of $30 entries).

Why 4 km?

1 in 4 young Australians between the ages of 12 & 25 will live with a mental health issue, and of those only 1 in 4 will seek help. So if a 4 km walk can highlight these stats and make more of society aware that's a good thing.

The Bully Buster 4km will start from Bellarine Sunset Run HQ in front of the Portarlington Pier and will start immediately before the Active Feet Half Marathon. It will make its way in the opposite direction to the runs heading 2 km towards Point Richards along the Bellarine Coastal Trail passing the caravan park on the water’s edge before turning back at the miniature railway.

The terrain is a nice flat unsealed gravel trail suitable for strollers, children, and the elderly and on course we will have water hydration stations and course marshals to help make your walk more pleasurable.
